Sugarloaf Mountain
Costão
Why be stuck with all the other tourists on the expensive cable car ride up to the top of Rio's world famous Sugarloaf Mountain, when you can easily get there by foot. The trail takes you around the back of the 396m mountain where you have an incredible view the Baia de Guanabara. It includes a short but exciting 30m rock climb that will be performed with the proper safety equipment. Although the altitude doesn't match that of some of the other peaks in Rio, the trail is quite steep and is not recommended for those with a fear of heights. The view from the top is one the most classic post card views of Rio, and its great for watching the city light up as the sun sets. You will get the opportunity to take the cable car down (free of charge) until Morro da Urca, where we descend the rest by foot.
